Massage Parlor Trafficking

This report, published by The Polaris Project examines the discovery that massage parlor trafficking was the second most prevalent type of trafficking reported to the National Human Trafficking Hotline.  After more in-depth research, Polaris found over 9,000 of these parlors, amassing an astounding $2.5 billion in annual revenue.  This groundbreaking report details how this extremely widespread and lucrative industry operates on the edge of legality, while hiding massive criminal enterprises behind its doors.  Here in South Lake Tahoe, PATH supported the new city ordinance relating to massage parlors in the city limits.  Read the report here.  1/21/18
